I bought myself a piano yesterday. Its actually a digital piano, so like a clavinova type thing, I decided since i already own a piano it would be silly to buy another one and these don't need tuning. I managed to get him down 5000 rupees on the price too! (about 12%). So now I'm madly downloading sheet music :)

My shoes keep breaking!! I have broken the straps on so many shoes lately. So annoying!!

So I guess I need to go shoe shopping.

Its 4.5 weeks til the summer holidays, I'm off from the 27th June til the 17th August. Woo! Come visit!!

I got a Distinction on my first Masters assignment. Yay. I need to spend the next three weekends working my butt off as I have the last two assignments due for this semester.

I'm getting old... Its my birthday in 3 weeks or so... 29!!! That was also part of the motivation to buy a piano.

I was thinking of going to Europe for my holidays but then I decided to be responsible and just put all the money towards my debts. Which are unfortunately larger than they were previously because my computer got stolen out of my car and I bought it on interest free and had not finished paying it off, so now I am almost finished paying for the computer I don't have anymore, and am going to start paying for the one I am now using (my new one). Grrr...

So I might just go to Thailand or Sri lanka or something cause they are close by and cheap and I'll prob go somewhere in India as well. I have a free airfare from Kingfisher cause they screwed me over a while ago.

funny things I've seen lately.

2. yesterday I saw a woman holding live chicken upside down by the feet on a motorbike.
3. 6 people on a motorbike!!!

Funny things that have happened lately.

1. the usual getting stalked... My friend and I went to a bar and talked to these guys but were not interested and they followed us out. Then they started following our car (in their car) I managed to get behind them and indicated left, so they turned left and then I went straight ahead. Then they saw me and turned around to keep following us, and I drove into a five star hotel to hide and they followed us there as well!! We told the security not to let them in but they said they were only going to use the bathroom and they DID let them in, so we ran off and drove off while they were in the bathroom and finally lost them. I really don't understand this behaviour though... Do they think at some point we'll turn around and say oh yes I've changed my mind you are awesome lets hang out??

2. Another stalking incident... was talking to a guy at a party, didn't give him my number but the next day he started calling me. Turns out when I'd been distracted he'd picked up my phone and called himself from it so he had my number...

3. Man deciding he misses me so much he decides to cancel all his work in the US to come visit me (he's Indian but based in US). He's nice though, not a stalker.

I think that's about it at the moment :)

I went to the beach this weekend, same beach as last time, but this time we did a Kerala backwater cruise on a houseboat.

It was pretty cool we had a whole houseboat with a bedroom, big deck with couches, kitchen etc to ourselves for 2.5 hours and it only cost about $70






We bought what they called "tiger prawns" and they cooked them for us on the boat. Soooo tasty.

random India stuff...

hmmm what has happened lately... I think I must be getting used to life here because things don't seem noteworthy to me anymore. I also think I'm getting the hang of how to get things done cause last week i managed to
-get my hair done
-buy stuff for the bathroom (shower curtain & rod, shelf etc) and get it installed
-buy new curtains and cushion covers
-get curtains taken up
-get AC fixed
-get fan fixed
-get Australia Network installed

this doesn't seem that impressive in Aus i know... But usually if you say to someone can you come and fix install etc an item they will say yes, no, tomorrow, then not turn up, then next week etc.

with the curtains the tailor said "i can't do it til next week", I said I really need it done, he said ok I'll have it done for tomorrow, then the next day it wasn't done, so i said hey come on you said it would be done, and he said "i have a fever" and i said but these other two guys here don't. And he said "ok madam" and they did it in 20 mins. I think i've worked out you need to be a mixture of annoyed and good humoured.

with all of the other things various similar things happened, originally I asked someone to install my curtains and they said no, next week, then maybe tomorrow, then ok i can so it today, same with the AC and the Australia Network (all seperate people). Maybe I was just lucky.

Anyway I am feeling like i can "do stuff!!"

Oh and I got an iphone. Its the coolest phone ever... i especially like "around me" the app where you can look up the closest banks, bars, coffee, petrol, hospitals, hotels, movies, restaurants, etc

Tomorrow is Holi which is an Indian festival where everyone throws coloured dye at each other... We're doing it at school so I'll take pics :)

So on Tuesday the 23rd Of December i left with Jo, Thyagu and her son Arvind on a safari!

The first place we went to was called Pench; it had tons of wildlife here are some pics

We did lots of fun stuff in Bangalore, went to Jo's for dinner, went to some bar's and the leela palace and little italy (totally veg italian restaurant with awesome pizza) and on Friday was the last day of school and we were going to goa.

We had a few issues with flights and ended up having to go via mumbai, so here is a pic of Nicole with a mumbai taxi




So we got to Goa in the morning and met some guys and ended up dancing with them in a club

So Nicole left to Europe on Sunday night after our flight from Goa was delayed by four hours...

Ok heaps has happened since i last posted.

Nicole came to visit for a week. We hung out and went to Goa for the weekend and went to a wedding, wore Sari's etc.

Then i went on a safari for a week and i saw a TIGER!! and a leopard.

SChool finishded for 3 weeks, we had the work christmas party.

Last night was new years. Went to a farm house party, it was great got ridiculous and fell over several times, got home at 7am i think.

I'll elaborate on each of these with pics when i have some time maybe tomorrow or something.

On Wednesday night we (kate and I ) decided to have a picnic on the balcony.




It was really good, we had cheese and wine and lamb kofte and stuff and i put the cushions from my couch on the balcony and lit candles. :)

Saturday Night we decided to go for drinks for Jenny's birthday so we went to TGIF which was nice.

We had wayyy too many tequila shots, including introducing Jo to her first Tequila shot!








Kate and I and Arian (the guy she's seeing) went to Ali Baba which is a sort of arab restaurant for tea. I managed to convince them to give me one of the waiters hats :)
